On the contrary, proper hydration and the use of sunscreen can prolong the results.<\/p>\n Side Effects and Contraindications<\/strong><\/p>\n Injectable hyaluronic acid is considered safe; however, there may be some side effects such as:<\/p>\n Mild swelling at the application area<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Redness<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Bruising<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Which disappear in a few days. After the infusion, it is recommended to avoid intense physical exercise for 24-48 hours, because it may increase swelling.
If there is a tendency to swelling or bruising, application of ice may be helpful. Aspirin or other anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g., ibuprofen) should also be avoided for 2-3 days before therapy.
Avoid alcohol consumption for at least 24 hours prior to application as it may worsen any swelling or bruising.
